CAFFEINE AGONISTES
That coffee you drink makes you talk a lot
But it doesn’t give you nothing to say
You drink a few cups when the sun comes up
Then you yack the rest of the day
You talk about your momma/You talk about your friends
You talk about nothing then you talk it again
The Bible ought to preach that talking’s a sin
When you ain’t got nothing to say
You go down to the coffee shop/ For a five dollar cup of Joe
You drink it down and your tongue starts to wag
The words they start to flow
You dot every I, cross every T/ You talk the bark right off the tree
You sound like a raver on the cable TV
‘Cause you ain’t got nothing to say
I’m not complaining I like you a lot
‘Till you drink that coffee down
Then I think you’d be lots better off
Yacking six feet under the ground
I try to be humble, I try to be kind
But when the caffeine’s working I lose my mind
If you took up whiskey, I’d like it fine
‘Cause whiskey gives you something to say
You talk about your momma
You talk about your friends
You talk about nothing then you talk it again
The Bible ought to preach that talking’s a sin
When you ain’t got nothing to say
